STRATEGIC PARTNERS
Contribute to the development of Biomethane
The strategic partners that talk about organic waste are mainly focused on society and administration.
What do we need to know about society’s views on waste?
Among the environmental problems of greatest concern to society are the pollution of the oceans by plastics, as well as the degradation of natural environments on land, also damaged by excessive waste and litter. This highlights the importance of managing our waste properly, which will need to be significantly reduced and properly handled if we are to mitigate climate change and preserve the health of ecosystems.
On the other hand, in rural areas, the lack of employment and generation of new opportunities is a major concern. The development of new projects linked to the management of waste from farms or agri-food industries contributes to resolving these situations.
Therefore, the advantages of biomethane are of huge value to society, the process of generating this energy is one of the most effective in reducing and avoiding emissions into the atmosphere.
- It contributes to achieving the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan 2021-2030 Commitments on greenhouse gas emissionn reductions.
- It helps towards development of a circular economy
- It provides a tangible solution in the decarbonisation of the transport sector.
- It contributes to the creation of jobs and is a precursor of the rural economy.
What should we know about the Administration?
The Administration plays a very important role in the implementation of the lines of action of the Biogas Roadmap, which establishes five lines of action and 43 specific measures with the aim of multiplying the production of gas from renewable sources.
The government intends to activate instruments such as the system of guarantees of origin for renewable gases, the streamlining and standardisation of administrative procedures throughout the country and the improvement of waste regulations to facilitate the production of renewable gases.
The Administration is essential in defining an ambitious and stable regulatory framework to promote activities related to waste and renewable gases, especially biomethane, facilitating and simplifying, among other things, the processing of these projects.
- It contributes to the consumption of renewable energies and the substitution of fossil fuels.
- It helps fulfil the goals set by the RSP II and the PNIEC 2021-2030.
- It offers a viable solution to major organic waste problems, such as slurry disposal.
- It contributes to territorial structuring and economic development in rural regions.
- It offers advice in the different administrative áreas.
